Our Story
Little Brown Kids was birthed from the love and support given to our creator and founder, Ebony Jenae, for her viral songs "Little Brown Girl" and "Little Brown Boy". After receiving countless videos, comments, and personal messages from supporters about how these songs healed their children and the little brown boy or girl inside of them, it inspired her to expand on that positive impact by creating a children's brand dedicated to representing little brown kids and their families positively and accurately.
We understand how important representation is. Our goal is to provide a space where black children see themselves over and over again; in the books they read and interact with, in the clothes they wear, in the toys and games they play, etc. We also know that black people are not a monolith; which is why we celebrate and showcase different skin tones, hairstyles and textures, and facial features. We hope that whenever a little brown kid has any one of our products, they feel seen, loved, valued, special, respected, proud, and joyous!
